Tim grew up in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Being introduced to the game of golf in the 4th grade Tim grew to love the game and took advantage of every opportunity he had to play or practice. As a junior at Exeter Township Senior High School Tim decided how better to improve for the varsity golf team he was a part of, but to work at the Exeter Golf Course to gain play and practice privileges. Not long after Tim worked at the Exeter Golf Course in Reading, Pennsylvania he pursued how to "do this" as a career. He chose The Pennsylvania State University where he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Science. Being at one of the best universities in this field Tim spent summers at some of the most prestigious clubs throughout the country. His first internship was at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania which is regarded as one of the best places to play for public golf. The following summer Tim worked at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. It was during this internship Tim knew this was what he wanted to do and the type of operation he wanted to be a part of. The next two seasons Tim would gain greater responsibility. The next summer Tim went to Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, New York working for the long time superintendent David Mahoney. Siwanoy had a long tradition of golf having hosted the 1st PGA Championship not to mention how exclusive this club was. The final season before Tim graduated from Penn State he spent the entire season at the State College Elk's Country Club. As the Assistant Superintendent at the Elk's Country Club, Tim led a seasoned crew and took part of the opening and closing of the golf course. Tim graduated from Penn State and moved to the Philadelphia area and began working as an Assistant Superintendent at Little Mill Country Club in Marlton, New Jersey. Here Tim worked with renowned turfgrass consultant Paul Latshaw. With a supportive superintendent and club, Little Mill was presented to the membership in the greatest condition in its history. This achievement gained the club a ranking by the New Jersey Golf Association, Top 30 in the state. Shortly thereafter Tim received an offer to be the Superintendent at the Abington Country Club in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Here Tim took his past experiences and desire to succeed and offered a golf course to the membership they were proud of and cut the expenses nearly 30%. The sand bunkers were completely renovated including drainage, the greens were converted to 100% L-93 creeping bentgrass from poorly maintained and neglected poa annua. Tim worked with the club management and membership to create a long term golf course improvement plan to include a new irrigation system and an equipment replacement plan. Tim had an extremely unique situation in that he was the Superintendent at Abington Country Club and Twin Woods Golf Club simultaneously. These two golf courses are separately owned and operated. At Twin Woods, Tim implemented modern agronomy and course improvement through judicious fiscal management and was awarded "Best in Class" by The Reporter. New teeing areas were built, expansion of existing teeing areas, complete bunker renovation, and fairway drainage installation were all instrumental to the golf course's success. In 2009 Tim reduced the expenses 20% in preparation for the struggling economy. He continued these cuts through 2011 and Twin Woods Golf Club had it's most successful years for play and turfgrass management. In 2010 Tim took on a greater responsibility as the Superintendent at Twin Woods Golf Club and the Skippack Golf Club. At Skippack Tim is responsible for a part time staff of 13 and an equipment fleet worth over $500,000. Here Tim took his past 7 years as a Superintendent and utilized sound agronomy to steer the Skippack and Twin Woods Golf Clubs through the tough 2010 and 2011 seasons. 2010 marked the best year for Skippack, they had the highest amount of rounds played. In the opinion of the Golf Course Superintendent it was also their best year for turfgrass management in recent history. In the free time Tim gets he enjoys spending time with his family which includes his wife of 8 years Debbie, 3 year old daughter Ashley, and 1 year old son Eric.
